Representatives of the Adult Education Institute Praxis – College of Practical Knowledge: Sanjin Brajković and Damir Belančić participated in the IX. International Andragogical Symposium from 20 to 22 October, which was held as part of the ESF project “Promotion of lifelong learning – phase II” in Healthness Resort Sveti Martin na Muri.
Prominent adult education experts shared their experiences with the participants and enabled them to acquire new andragogical knowledge and skills.
After an introductory address by the Director of the Agency for VET and Adult Education, Mile Živčić, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Education, Tomislav Paljak, the IX. International Symposium was officially opened. Mr. Joacim James Calleja, President of the European Forum for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, gave a plenary lecture: Micro-qualifications and an example of good practice (online presentation). Irena Bačelić, Head of the Labor Market Sector from the Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, and Andreja Bednjički, Head of the Strategic Analysis Service, gave a lecture on: Vouchers and Microqualifications in the Republic of Croatia. Davorka Schmidt, Head of the Department for Adult Education at the Ministry of Science and Education and Mario Vučić, Assistant Director for the Development of Adult Education from the Agency for VET and Adult Education gave a lecture on: Planned changes in adult education.
Vesna Anđelić, Assistant Director for the Development of Vocational Education from the Agency for VET and Adult Education and Nino Buić, Assistant Director for European Affairs, International Cooperation and Projects from the Agency for VET and Adult Education, gave a lecture on: Vocational and Sectoral Curriculum – application of modules in adult education. Head of the Quality Assurance Department Ognjen Piljek Žiljak from the Agency for VET and Adult Education held a presentation of the model of the quality system in adult education in the Republic of Croatia.
In order to increase quality in the field of adult education, workshops were organized to strengthen the capacity of target groups and decision makers to implement quality assurance and quality monitoring procedures in the adult education system.
The topics of the workshops were: Workshop 1: Model of quality assurance system in adult education in the Republic of Croatia (Antonija Merdžan, Head of the External Evaluation Department and Vatroslav Popović, Senior Expert Advisor for External Evaluation); Workshop 2: Model of quality assurance system in adult education in the Republic of Croatia (Tamara Hudolin, Head of the Department for Support of Self-Evaluation of vocational schools and adult education institutions and Andrea Kovačević, Expert Associate for Self-Evaluation); Workshop 3: Management models: response to the challenge of quality in adult education (Emir Avdagić, DVV International Germany, workshop on the role of management in adult education).
